Michel Bordas

Name: Michel Bordas
Bio: Michel Bordas was born in 1953 in Dordogne, France. At 16, a visit to the Prado had an indelible influence on him. After drawing classes in the faculties of art and archeology at the University of Paris, he settled in the Charente. He painted mostly portraits in charcoal, pen and wash, and oils and acrylics for many years. His first, occasional, pastels date back to 1978. In 1987, a career move forced him temporarily to put painting aside. But the 2002 Salon International du Pastel at Feytiat near Limoges served as a stimulus to work again, because, as he says himself, ars longs, vita brevis. He is now president of Pastel en Perigord.
