Anita Stoll

Name: Anita Stoll
Bio: Wachet auf! Sleeper awake ! One of Bach’s best loved chorales from Cantata BWV 140. What does this have to do with Anita Stoll? Well, after a childhood circumscribed by asthma, when drawing was her way of escaping into the great outdoors, Anita returned to art at the age of fifty. “It was, “ she says, “as if I was awoken from a long sleep.” Anita and her husband moved to Coarsegold, Ca. in 2004 to be close to Yosemite, where she backpacked regularly, and where she collects material for her paintings. She is a signature member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast and the Northwest Pastel Society. A prizewinner in the 2006 Pastel Journal's Pastel 100, Anita has been a featured artist in Intenational Art Magazine.
