Medium: Oil, pastel, graphite, charcoal, and conté.
Subjects: Landscape
Publications: Apart from featuring in numerous magazines, Jennifer has published a book through the web publisher Blurb. Available at a modest price through her site – check it out. I have used Blurb myself to publish an illustrated diary of 5 years in France and the quality of the production is second to none.
Style: Jennifer’s painting are a distillation of her plein air work, often painted years afterwards, perhaps best summed-up by Wordworth’s definition of poetry: “Emotion recollected in tranquillity.”
Navigation: Beautiful modern design using tabbed drop-down menus on top and links to Shopping Cart, Facebook and Twitter at bottom.
Gallery: Portfolios: Pastels; Oils; Drawings; Archive. Also note Resonance Online Exhibit.
Image View: The gallery opens to thumbnails on the right of the page and an image viewer to the left. Clicking on a thumbnail opens it in a slideshow – there is a zoom function as well that allows you to drag the image if it’s bigger than the window. Right click is disabled. The pastels are labelled with information on dimension and support- the Online Exhibit can leave you guessing. There are still a few glitches on this part of the site, but it’s brand new and I’m certain it will be ironed out tout de suite. Shady Grove is 4 x 6 ins.
Blog: Yes – see the website
Demo/Ebay/Flickr: No.
