Andrew Hemingway Landscapes

I have previously done a post on the pastels of Andrew Hemingway, who does not have a website of his own, but whose work is too important to ignore. Hemingway is indisputably among the top five exponents of pastel in the world today. He has in the past been known for his exquisite still life paintings. Now he has undertaken a new venture, bringing his powers of observation and delineation to bear on the Swiss landscape in all its majesty.
A new gallery, The School Gallery, in Skelmanthorpe, West Yorkshire, has gone on line with a collection of Hemingway's landscape, mainly pastels, but with some oil paintings too. Don't miss the opportunity to see a master at work, at the top of his game.
The Sisters at Loèche les Bains is 35.5 x 54.5 ins.
UPDATE 7.6.2012: The domain name http://theschoolgallery.com/ expired on 5.5.2012 and is pending renewal or deletion.

  1. Thanks for sharing this, I'd never have heard about Hemingway otherwise. It's a stunning piece and I'm off to do some research on him. Thanks again!
