Laurent Chantraine

Name: Laurent Chantraine (Cantarana) 
Bio: Laurent Chantraine was born in Paris in 1963. He is a graduate of the École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués and has an advanced training certificate  in Visual Expression from the École Supérieure Estienne. He has also gained a Higher Diploma in Arts and Techniques of Communication. Laurent has been a graphic designer and freelance illustrator from 1987 to 1990 and was manager of the Atelier du Point du Jour art galerie in 1990 et 1991. He has been teaching since 1991 and leader of a painting workshop from 1993 to 1998. He heads up a drawing workshop at the IUFM (instituts universitaires de formation des maîtres - teacher training college) since 2004. Member of Arts-Sciences-Lettres Academy since 2008, and member of Art du Pastel en France and Salon du Pastel en Bretagne. He has been exhibiting his work for many years, and winning prizes, in France and in Belgium.

Parallèlement, donne des cours de dessin
au conservatoire de Gagny (93).et dans un lycée privé de Villemomble (93).
Enseignant depuis 1991.
Anime un atelier de peinture de 1993 à 1998 et anime un atelier de dessin à l’IUFM depuis 2004.
Membre de l'Académie "Arts-Sciences-Lettres", celle-ci lui décerne le 10 mai 2009 une médaille d'argent..Membre des Associations de Pastellistes : "Art du Pastel en France" et "Salon du Pastel en Bretagne"
