Bio: Lionel Asselineau was born in Paris in 1970. Early on, he began to draw and paint. In 1986, he entered via competition, the school of the BJO (Jewellery and silverware) in Rue du Louvre, Paris. He graduated as a setter in jewelry and silverware in 1989 and worked for ten years for the great jewellers of the Place Vendôme: Cartier, Van Cleef Arpels, Chanel, and Tiffany.Lionel Asselineau has always been attracted to nature and the countryside and in 2001 he decided to leave Paris to devote himself entirely to the art of pastel, his chief love. Seeing a poster of the Festival International du Pastel held at Feytiat he went there on opening day and met the foremost French pastellists. He was immediately adopted by them and invited to participate in their exhibitions each year.
