She is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of New Mexico. Most recently, her paintings have been juried into the 2015 and 2016 Miniatures and More Show at the Albuquerque Museum. Her work has sold in the US (The Farmington Museum purchased one of her paintings in 2014), Europe, and in Korea. Donna is represented by Weem’s Galleries in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Medium: Pastel, Oil.
Subjects : Difficult to categorise but certainly organic, based on nature, and very beautiful.
Style and Technique: “My pastel paintings strongly juxtapose organic and geometric structures. I use intricate patterns, pastel printing and mixed media collage in contrast with realism to evoke a sense of visual poetry. By working geometric patterns into my compositions, I am able to portray an Asian appeal while representing mans impact on nature, whether positive or negative, no landscape remains untouched by humans. Occasionally a Japanese influence can be seen in my pastels due to living on Islands in the Pacific as a child.”
