Janis Krendick

Name: Janis Krendick
Bio: Originally from Ohio, Janis Krendick moved to Texas in the early 90’s and presently resides in Plano, Texas. Her interest in art goes back to childhood, and she has worked in a number of media over the years. She has a minor in studio art from Ohio University (1973) and has studied both pastel and oil with a number of nationally known artists including Doug Dawson, Ned Mueller and Ann Templeton, Lorenzo Chavez, Bob Rohm, Bill Hosner and Richard McKinley.
Her pastels and oils have been in many exhibits and have won several awards, including Honorable Mention in the Pastel Journal. She received her Master's Circle medallion at the IAPS convention in Albuquerque, in 2011.
Serving two years as the President of the Pastel Society of the Southwest, she remains active in that association. The Pastel Society of the Southwest, the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico and the International Association of Pastel Societies have awarded Signature Member status to Janis. She does frequent demonstrations for art groups in the North Texas area.
