Early Summer © Kimberly Wurster
Bio: Kimberly Wurster was born and raised in southwestern Montana, and lived there until she was 26. Her parents were jazz musicians (and nearly everyone in her father's family), so music became a big part of her life. A classical cellist for over forty years, Kimberly shifted her artistic focus in 1995 to fine art when she relocated to the Elk River, on the Oregon coast. Prior to this move Kimberly, with her husband Scott, had developed wildlife refuges near the Jefferson River in Montana, turning unproductive ranch wetlands into prime habitat for waterfowl and trout. With no formal training, she continues to draws on this experience with wetlands and on a life-long love for the natural world. Her work has earned numerous awards for excellence in domestic and international competition. Kimberly is a member of the West Coast Pastel Society, the Pastel Society of America and the Coos Art Museum in Coos Bay, Oregon.
